Staff Profiles
Nick is a senior archaeologist with experience in both Indigenous and historical archaeology in Victoria and New South Wales. Their training has also provided them with opportunities to engage at various sites in the United Kingdom and Qatar. Their experience spans a wide range of projects, from Big-Build developments, including Sydney Metro, Sydney Light Rail, West Gate Tunnel, Level Crossing Removal, and the Shepparton Line Upgrade, to inner-city excavations and rural archaeological sites.
Since beginning their career in 2016, Nick has developed a robust skill set that includes technical expertise in both participating in and leading fieldwork, such as surveys, excavations, monitoring, recording, and onsite heritage management. Nick has authored and co-authored several cultural heritage reports, Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs), Cultural Heritage Permits (CHPs), archaeological consents, due diligence reports, letters of advice, and excavation reports. They have led cultural heritage compliance inductions and participated in the processing and cataloguing of historical artefacts.
Nick completed their honours in alcoholic glass in Kinchega. They love to learn, completing short courses in oral history, aerial photography, photogrammetry, historical artefacts and their management. Nick is passionate about public archaeology; they believe sharing archaeological knowledge benefits both the community and their wellbeing.
Nick enjoys being cozy with their husband and cats. They will often be found listening to audiobooks, pursuing a craft or playing Dungeons and Dragons. Nick’s biggest achievement is winning a limited-edition Dud Mug on Hard Quiz
